STILA - *Fabulous in Fiji* Collectable Travel Palette #5

I'm going to try to make this shorter than my review on "Trendsetting in Tokyo".
This is the fifth limited edition travel palette Stila has released. Each of these adorable palettes feature a different "Stila girl" and their adventures while traveling. This one is featuring Ali, check out more about her "adventure" here

You'll get;
  • Four .015 oz eyeshadows
  • One .09oz dual lip & cheek color

This one is also still available at Sephora but will probably be gone soon, get it while you can for just $10!!

Review;
This one is my personal favorite out of the three that I own. I really love tropical, bright, unique eyeshadow. Fabulous in Fiji isn't for everyone. I'll explain why in a bit.
The packaging;

 Like I said in my post about "Trendsetting in Tokyo" this is the perfect sized palette for traveling and on-the-go touch ups! I love how small and cute these little palettes are. This is made of sturdy cardboard and I really don't see it breaking or getting worn out for a long time! When you open the palette up, there is a mirror and a travel inspired quote... the mirror comes in handy! This closes easily with a sturdy magnet that keeps it shut.
The outside of this palette is pretty, with pictures of palm trees and the main color being sky blue!
The Eyeshadow & Convertible Color;
These eyeshadows have great color pay off and are really smooth. They are easy to blend and all colors create a really nice look when used together! You'll need a primer or base underneath though...

 I haven't used the convertible color yet because it doesn't match my skin tone well. I will be using this in the summer though!

Below are swatches and descriptions of all the colors
r&r, escape, palm, wave all with primer underneath
r&r, escape, palm, wave, plumeria  All eyeshadows with primer underneath
R&R - Very light icy blue with shimmer. Lovely color and awesome to highlight, for the brow bone or to use on the inner corners of your eyes!

Escape - Sky blue with shimmer. This is a light blue color and looks great all over the lid by itself or used to highlight!

Palm - Bright green with a little shimmer. This is my favorite in the palette! It's a beautiful color and can be used for many different looks. You can use this eyeshadow for an intense look as well as a more toned down look!

Wave - Bright navy blue. I like to pair this with Palm for a really bright, fun look. Really pretty! As you can see in the swatches below, this color can be patchy when used without a primer!
Plumeria - Bronze. I'd probably use this as a bronzer in the summertime when I'm not so pale! I do like this color a lot but I'm not sure if it'll work for me. I don't really like it on my lips.

STILA - *Trendsetting in Tokyo* Collectable Travel Palette #3

I missed most out on most of these adorable "mini" palettes but I was able to get three of them, I'll be reviewing all the ones I do have.
Details;
This is the third limited edition Stila travel palette they've released.  Each of these palettes feature a different Stila girl and their adventures while traveling. This palette is featuring Zoe, you can check out so much more about her "adventure" HERE
This palette contains;
  • Four .015 oz eyeshadows
  • One .09oz dual lip & cheek color
Availability; Sephora for just $10!
 If you're planning on buying this, I'd hurry up because it won't be available for long!
Review;
The Packaging;
This is the perfect sized palette for traveling and on-the-go touch ups, it fits right in my hand! It's nice and slim so it'll fit perfectly in your purse!
This is made of sturdy cardboard, not flimsy at all. It has a magnet that keeps the palette shut, that is also very sturdy. Prior to purchasing this, I thought it would look flimsy and cheap in person. That isn't the case, it looks like I paid a lot more than just $10 for this adorable palette.
The main color on the outside is a beautiful purple shade and "Zoe" (the Stila girl) is beautiful on this palette. There is also very pretty shades of yellow, orange and pink on the outside. The whole thing is very pretty unique. On the inside is a very nice travel inspired quote and an awesome, perfect sized mirror.
*The only thing I dislike about the packaging is that sometimes as I'm applying my eyeshadow I'll get a bit of it close to the cream convertible color and that always makes my heart jump out of my chest! Luckily, I've never actually gotten any of the eyeshadow into the convertible color itself.
The Eyeshadow;
Overall, these eyeshadows are really nice. I haven't tried any other Stila eyeshadows besides the ones in their travel palettes so I really can't compare them. I have heard people say that these aren't as pigmented as their full-sized eyeshadows. I've also heard that these smaller sized eyeshadows in the travel palettes don't have nearly as much fallout as the full-sized ones. So the travel palettes compared to the full-sized eyeshadows both have their ups and downs. I personally think that this is a great buy.

*Below are swatches of the eyeshadows and convertible color*

SAKE - Beautiful shimmery champagne/beige. Has fallout but not very much at all. Lovely color for highlighting or for your brow bone! Getting a good swatch photo of this was difficult but it does have good color pay off  and is my favorite eyeshadow in this palette.

Sake, without primer & with primer

KAWAI - Shimmery medium pink. I love this unique pink shade, this one doesn't have much shimmer though.  I get a lot of use out of this color, I really like pairing it with "Sake". It has very good color pay off.
Kawai, with & without primer

SHIBUYA - Deep matte blue. A very bright and vibrant color. This color is a bit patchy and more difficult to blend but with some work, this looks amazing. Again, great color pay off.

Shibuya, with & without primer
"PEACE SIGN" - Black with multi-colored glitter. This is a great black eyeshadow and it's very unique because of the glitter. There isn't any fallout either which is hard to find with eyeshadows like this one. I like to pair this with "Shibuya". Not the most intense black but it's still great and like the others, it has great color pay off.
"Peace Sign", with & without primer

Convertible Color;

This is a cream dual lip & cheek color. I really like wearing this on my lips and with lipgloss over it, it's really amazing. At first, I was overwhelmed by the color but once I tried it out, I found that it is very wearable on both the lips and cheeks.

Sakura - Neutral baby pink. This is a limited edition shade. Out of the three travel palettes I own from Stila, this is my favorite convertible color. It's probably my favorite out of everything in these palettes!

things astonish us when we travel, that surprise nobody else - miriam beard
That is the very true quote on the inside of this palette.

Review & Swatches - Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles Palette

Just want you guys to know that the tags on these photos are mine and these ARE my photos. "Sexiee jenn 21" is my AOL email address and is also an email address that I use. You can contact me at customeyesforyou@yahoo.com though.

I'm going to start off by saying that this is my favorite palette at the moment and I've been using it a lot since I got it about a month ago at Sephora.com.

The Packaging;
From the outside this palette looks like a vintage, hard cover book. It's beautiful and I can tell that there was a lot of thought put into it. When you open "the book" there is a beautifully drawn photo and Kat Von D's signature on it. Next to that on the first page is some text written by Kat Von D, quotes and things. On the next two pages is more text and another very beautiful drawn photo. There is also a dedication to all of us for inspiring her and it says "With Love" and her signature. After all that, when you get to the shadows and fun stuff, there is a big mirror!  Also, the eyeshadow palette itself pops out and underneath is the double ended rollerball perfume. I love that it comes out like that because when I'm doing my makeup I take it out, it's easier that way. I don't want to have to hold a book while doing my eyeshadow!
The Eye Shadow, Primers & Lashes;
-I love each and every eye shadow in this palette. Some are better than others but overall, they're amazing. Most of these are very smooth and buttery. I haven't experienced much fallout at all and every single eye shadow is either very pigmented or almost as good as the rest. For me, each row of four eye shadows go together very nicely and the primers beneath each row seem to work well for those shadows.

-The primers are alright, not the best though. First of all, they're tiny 0.1fl oz each. They are kind of thick and take some time to blend. They do make the colors last longer and keep them vibrant.

-I haven't used the lashes yet but they look very dramatic and fun. I think lash adhesive should have been included but it's alright, there IS a ton of extras in this palette!
The Swatches;
Tijuana - An almost matte black with gold glitter.
Taxidermy - Bronze with lots of gold shimmer, very soft texture.
Hollywood - Lighter bronze/gold, very soft texture.
Peanut - Pale, light gold, nice for inner corners and brow bone.
Redemption- Matte blue/purple, texture isn't as smooth and soft as the others but is still beautiful.
Solitude- Lilac, smooth and soft.
Heartkiller- Baby pink with silver glitter. I like using it to highlight and inner corners when I do purple or pink looks.
Baudelaire- Sparkly light silver with a very light blue tint. Unique color, some fallout.

Monastary- Black with silver glitter. Very soft and smooth. Not a very intense black like Tijuana but it's still amazing. I just prefer very intense colors.
Poe Blue- The name says it all. Texture isn't smooth and it has some issues just like Redemption but it's still nice. Just not as pigmented as the rest :-(.
Nite Owl- Deep emerald
Lemmy - Lemon yellow (duh). Soft, smooth, silky and very pigmented. This one glides on like a dream. Most of these colors do but this one is the best when it comes to that in my opinion. Usually I have issues with yellow eyeshadow but this one is amazing.
Those are the primers. The top photo is the primers blended out.

Skin- Nude and dried pretty transparent on my fair skin.
Stellar - Shiny and kind of lightens whatever eye shadow you wear on top.
Smoky- Deep Grey, good for smoky eye looks.

The Double Ended Rollerball Perfumes;
I need to tell you that I'm horrible at explaining scents but I'm getting better at it. I'm not going to sit here and tell you what the website says about these scents so I'll try my best.
This is great for on the go and these last a long time. These aren't cheaply made and do not leak in your purse.

Sinner; This is a very intense, sweet scent. Very bold and sexy and "Sinner" is a great name for it. I like this for the weekends, when I'm going out.
Saint; Love this scent to death. It's soft, sexy and very feminine. It's a very sensual scent, my fiance loves it on me. This is fresh and sweet but not too intense, I get so many compliments when I wear this. My first thought when I opened it was "mmm, vanilla"!

Would I recommend this?;
Yes, without a doubt. I'll also be buying this palette for a friend, her birthday is coming up and she'd love it.
This was originally $55 and is now only $39, that is an amazing deal. It's limited edition but still available at Sephora. I think everyone should have this palette in their collection. If this is the only palette I had, I'd be alright! I cannot say enough good things about this. I hope she makes more palettes like this one soon.
I'm going to rate this a 4.5/5 ONLY because of the very few eye shadows that have some slight issues that I stated above and because there isn't any lash glue.
